Dr. Firoz Firozzaman - Chariman

Firoz Firozzaman received his Master’s degree in Industrial Mathematics from Kaiserslautern University, Germany in 1998 and PhD in Industrial Mathematics in 2002 in collaboration with Jahangirnagar University. He received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mathematics from Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh in 1985 and 1986 respectively. He has been employed at ASU since 2002, teaching a variety of first-year math classes. He has taught at Dhaka University from 1990 to 2001. He also taught at King Fahad University of Petroleum and Minerals from 1999 to 2000. He has published 25 research papers and has authored two textbooks on Algebra and Business Calculus in Bangladesh and co-authored one textbook on Pre-Calculus. Kendall Hunt Publishing Company has published two workbooks on Algebra (3rd edition) in 2015 and Calculus work book in 2016.

Mr. Almohtasib has a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Mutah University, Jordan and MBA-executive from the University of North Alabama.

Mr. Almohtasib has more than 12 years of experience as an Electrical Power Engineer and a project manager in Power delivery sector. Mr. Almohtasib served for the last three years at the Board of Education of Noor Academy of Arizona.

Ms. Bahja Ali - Member

Bahja Ali has a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Minnesota and a Masters of Arts in Secondary education. Ms. Ali has more than 10 years of experience in education and has served in education in many capacities. Ms. Ali started her educational career as a classroom Aid helping the teachers with instruction and student supervision. She served as a classroom teacher in a high school and taught several live and health science courses. She led a team of veteran science teachers to overhaul the district’s science curriculum and build a new curriculum and assessment that is aligned to the state standards. She served as a curriculum coach and worked with the teachers to coach them into using best practices in daily lessons and deliver content effectively. Currently, she holds the position of school leader at a high school and oversees the operations of the school to make sure the school’s team is operating and upholding the school’s mission and vision. These experiences have allowed Ms. Ali to be well versed in the education field.

Dr. Chad Haines- Member

Professor Chad Haines is the founding co-director of ASU’s Center of Muslim Experience in the U.S. and an associate professor of Religious Studies. Dr. Chad joined the NAA Board of Education in 2023

Functions of The Noor Academy of Arizona Education Board

The NAA Education Board chairman keeps regular communication with the school principal and the teachers every week. The board has assigned board members to school activities. One board member has the role of Education Director, who takes care of the academic improvement and development of the school overall. He/she is responsible for discussion with the teachers/faculty members and to make necessary arrangements regularly. Additionally, a board member (finance director) is assigned the monitoring of the school's finances and budget plan.  

The teachers/faculty members and officials are encouraged to discuss issues they might have with the school principal. The principal may discuss with the board chairman for further assistance, if needed. The teachers/faculty members of the school staff may directly discuss with the board chairman via email if they feel something has not been addressed properly. 

The NAA Education Board is closely monitoring the activities of the school and making amendments when needed.
